Business Chicks presents Tan France

You know that classic ‘who would your dream dinner guests be?’ question? If you asked us, fashion legend Diane von Furstenberg would be at our table. She’d probably sit there radiating Yoda-like wisdom – wearing one of the signature wrap dresses that made her a billionaire and women’s lib icon in the ’70s – and sagely share secrets from her 74 years on earth. (And we’d be so busy drinking it all in, we’d forget to eat. And we never forget to eat.)

Diane leads a colourful life. The Belgian-American fashion designer was born to a mother who survived the Holocaust; married a German prince (she had two children with him before they divorced three years after marrying), and began designing clothes in 1970, even though she was married at the time, saying she “wanted to be someone of my own”. In 1976, she appeared on the cover of Newsweek after selling over five million wrap dresses.

She’s a proud feminist and champion for other women, has pledged to give half her fortune to charity, and started the DVF Awards in 2010 to recognise other women making a difference.

And, lucky for us, we don’t have to fantasise about having Diane at our table (and neither do you!) – because she’s speaking for Business Chicks as part of IWD month and to celebrate the release of her book, Own It: The Secret to Life, which takes you on an A-to-Z journey of advice.

In this special virtual event – hosted by Emma Isaacs – Diane will be chatting with Business Chicks fave Azure Antoinette and dispense her hard-won wisdom to you. You’ll hear her thoughts on everything from owning your vulnerabilities and imperfections, to her secrets for success and a happy life. Plus, everyone who attends will score a copy of Own It – on us!

Don’t miss your chance to hear from one of the world’s most iconic entrepreneurs. Diane is dazzling, entertaining and whenever she speaks for Business Chicks we always leave wanting more and ready to own it (see what we did there?)
