We are excited to announce that Colleen O’Brien has joined Armoire as Chief Communications Officer. Based in Seattle, Colleen will focus on accelerating growth via strategic storytelling, brand development, and media engagement. Her remit will include broad market education about the clothing rental category and Armoire’s unmatched commitment to community, personalization, and customer fit.
Colleen brings extensive marketing and communications experience to this role as a 10+ year Microsoft veteran. Most recently, she led brand marketing, content creation, and communications for the company’s venture fund M12. Prior to her time in venture capital, Colleen served as the executive communications manager for the head of Microsoft Azure, and held several product marketing roles in Windows and Office, driving consumer growth, lifecycle engagement, and partnerships globally.
“Similar to the innovative technologies that I’ve marketed to date, clothing rental represents a paradigm shift, and requires compelling storytelling to help people rethink their relationship to their wardrobe,” said Colleen. “I’m excited to leverage my own great experience as an Armoire customer to encourage more people to have fun with fashion and reclaim valuable time and money spent shopping at traditional retailers.”
Colleen first became an Armoire customer in November 2017 when her role in executive communications required elevated workwear.
An advocate for women building big careers, Colleen sits on the advisory board of Women in Cloud, a global organization influencing gender policy and practice to better support women-founded technology companies.
On the heels of the launch of our Seattle boutique Armoire Go, we’re excited to have Colleen on board, and to tap her passion and skill set as we continue to provide limitless style and personalized recommendations to take the guesswork out of getting dressed.
