Our member gift guide for everyone on your list

Gift giving is my love language – there’s nothing I love more! Finding small businesses, run by women who create cute and clever things you won’t find at the shops is my special talent and when I find them, I share them with everyone I know. Here is my round-up of gifts from Business Chicks members. You’re welcome!

For the kiddos in your life …

If you’ve got a kid who likes to make potions (and raid the kitchen whilst doing it), Empath Ana, owned by Anastasia Tsikas, has the coolest potion kits. There are a bunch of different types that include all the magical (nature based) ingredients your little one needs. They even come with potion recipe cards, cute! I bought the Dragon Tales one to pop in my five-year-old’s stocking.

For the new baby in the family …

Soul Baby Gifts, owned by Leonie Henzel have the coolest little suitcases you can monogram with the babies’ name and fill with cute little things. I’ve lost count how many of these I’ve sent to friends – they just make gift giving so easy! You could just get the suitcase with their name (they make the perfect keepsake boxes for all your kid’s special things) or you can add cute things into the suitcase too – the hardest thing will be choosing. My go-tos are Under My Love Umbrella ( a book) and a Flatout Baby Bear.

For the teachers or educators you want to thank …

Rachael Sara is a First Nations artist from Goreng Goreng Country and creates the most beautiful stuff. Please for the love of god, do not buy a teacher another candle or mug, ok? Instead, I think these notebooks adorned in Rachael’s art would make the most beautiful, useful gift. You’ll go straight to the top of the class!

For the active people in your world …

Aktivaal, owned by Lindy Sorenson has the most beautiful workout equipment. Their latest collection is inspired by the Aussie coastline, so even if you’re doing your downward dogs in a corner of your bedroom, you’ll feel like you’re doing them on a cliff, by the beach somewhere. Obsessed!

For the house proud …

Luna Vista, run by Jess Goldsbro, stocks beautiful boho décor that she sources from artisans around the world. My couch is home to a few of her handmade Cactus Silk cushions from Morocco – stunning! Side note: if you’re in the market for a vintage Moroccan rug, this is your place!

For the person you want to buy a little somethin’ …

It’s been a tough year and most people are exhausted – I think a gift that encourages a little self-care moment is perfect for anyone – colleagues/neighbour/Secret Santas. Member, Narelle Lane owns Barossa Body who make the most beautiful Australian Pink Clay & Pomegranate clay mask. All their stuff is 100% natural and ethically sourced too!

For your very chic friend …

I am perhaps Megan Hess’ biggest fan (although I know quite a few people who’d fight me for the title). She is one of the world’s most sought-after fashion illustrators who just happens to be a Business Chicks member too. For the stylish people in your life, you can’t go past one of her stunning reusable coffee cups. Made of fine porcelain with a silicone lid and featuring one of her signature Coffee Girl Illustrations – even the hardest to buy for will be impressed!

For your girls …

Suzette Cassie has brought French jewellery brand ZAG bijoux to Australia. Think beautiful delicate, fine jewellery (at very reasonable prices). This is my pick for your girlfriends, sister or work wife. I have my eye on the Toscanna earrings, gorg!

For the person you’re not going to see in person …

If you need to send a gift somewhere, these are my favourite member’s businesses who do gift boxes and hampers … Bronwyn Bate runs Mettle Women Inc. who create the most gorgeous gift boxes and employ women who are experiencing homelessness because of domestic violence – it’s an incredible organisation. Susan Hawkins runs The Gifting Guild, which lets you build your own gift box with things you know your special someone will love. And Jale Mills runs Gourmet Basket, who create the most exquisite hampers of gourmet food and wine.
