Your network is your net worth. It’s not just about what you know, it’s who you know. The most successful people in the world look for networks, everyone else looks for work. And every other cliché we can find on why relationships matter.
We all know how important it is to work on relationships in order to catapult our careers and grow our sphere of influence but many of us don’t know where to start and how to get the most from this valuable resource.
If you’re thinking to yourself, but “I’m terrible at small talk!” or “I’m an introvert,” fear not. We’ve brought together some of the best relationship builders we know to share their secrets on what makes a good networker, how to grow your network, how to move past small talk and how to build relationships that actually work – both inside of the workplace and out. It’s all thanks to our friends at LinkedIn, who provide an awesome platform to lift each other up, and grow our networks. LinkedIn want women to feel entitled to every opportunity that comes their way, and after the impacts of Covid, there’s never been a more important time to harness the power of the people in your life.
Join the conversation live on LinkedIn on March 16 where you’ll be able to jump into the comment section and start chatting. We’ll be joined by some of our most powerful and brilliant Business Chicks members – Flex Mami, Hannah Spilva, Ange Howard and Sarah Davidson – as we tap into their collective genius and learn their secrets for mastering the relationship game.
Meet the panel
Flex Mami aka Lillian Ahenkan
Flex is a multidisciplinary millennial making waves in the entertainment industry. She’s a DJ, a TV presenter, podcast host, a social commentator, the founder & CEO of Reflex AND soon-to-be author of The Success Experiment (released June 2021). Jameela Jamil calls her an “inspiration” and, just quietly, we’re pretty obsessed with her too.
Hannah is in the business of making people’s days. Hannah and her co-founder Verity Tuck launched their flower delivery service LVLY in Melbourne in 2015. A little over five years later, they deliver nation-wide seven days a week and have offices in Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide and are the best in the business at customer service and adapting to change to get ahead.
Angela has a big job. The Vice President of People and Performance for Carnival Cruises in the Asia Pacific, she manages a workforce of thousands both directly and indirectly across 60 different countries. Angela is a master at building relationships and getting the best of out of your people. And here’s a fun fact: before joining Carnival, Ange had never been on a cruise!
Sarah our host, is an ex-lawyer and what we like to call a multi-passionate entrepreneur. The Founder of Matcha Maiden, host of the Seize the Yay podcast and the author of the book by the same name, Sarah is passionate about supporting others to help them find what makes them happy. Working with Sarah makes us happy; there’s no one that shows up and makes us smile like she does.
